Ten million yuan (NT$, the same below), it was suggested that he repay the loan by amputation. Zhang Nan believed it and soaked his feet in dry ice for 10 hours, eventually amputating both legs. Afterwards, Liao Nan claimed an insurance claim of 41.26 million yuan, but only one company paid more than 230,000 yuan. The other insurance companies immediately called the police when they noticed something unusual, and this suspicion of insurance fraud was exposed.
According to "ctwant", the reporter went to the hometown of a male college student surnamed Zhang and found that he came from a well-off family and was the "eldest grandson" in the family. The elders had high hopes for him. Now, Zhang has not only had both knees amputated, but also has had his legs amputated for the rest of his life. They all had to wear prosthetics and were prosecuted by the police. When the family learned about this, they were extremely sad and yelled, "You are so stupid, you are selling money and you are still counting money."
Zhang Nan’s family members said that Liao Nan often boasted that he had someone behind his back, and even said that he “can find a killer to kill those who oppose him.” Liao Nan also pointed out the whereabouts of Zhang Nan’s relatives and friends, which made Zhang Nan fearful. Worried about the safety of his family, he obeyed Liao Nan's advice.
At that time, Liao Nan tied Zhang Nan with a belt and put his feet in a dry ice bucket, soaking him from 2 a.m. to 12:20 noon on January 27. During this period, Liao Nan was recording the video, and he did not go to the hospital until the early morning of January 28. At this time, Zhang Nan suffered from fourth-degree frostbite on both sides of his lower legs, compartment syndrome, avascular necrosis of the bone, sepsis, and rhabdomyolysis. After experiencing symptoms, he finally underwent amputation on February 6.
After Zhang Nan had his leg amputated, he still believed that he owed money and continued to work to repay the money even after graduation. It was not until the police came to find out that it was all a scam. Not only was he deceived by Liao Nan, he was also left with a lifelong disability and even got into a lawsuit. Now Zhang Nan just wants to return to a normal life. In order not to worry his family, he rarely expresses his emotions. His family members are very heartbroken when they see him, lamenting that he "made a bad friend by mistake."
The prosecutor finally prosecuted Zhang Nan and Liao Nan on suspicion of obtaining money by fraud and attempted fraud, and recommended that the court confiscate all illegal gains. Liao Nan was also involved in the crime of helping others to injure themselves and causing serious injury.
