Some candidates were exposed to the first action movie in their lives when they were 12 years old, and they still want to work hard in the direction of action movies in the future; there are also candidates who started working in action movies when they were young. A student studying martial arts, he has dabbled in swords, guns, swords, sticks, Nanquan and Tongjiquan. With a dream of becoming an actor, he hopes to integrate traditional martial arts into movies.
Becoming an action actor is the common ideal of almost all candidates. The establishment of the action performance major also builds a bridge for students to realize their ideals.
Undergraduate students majoring in action performance at the Central Academy of Drama have a four-year academic program and plan to enroll 25 students this year. Wang Xin, director of the Chinese Opera Performance Department, said that the professional courses include university general education, stage form for drama performances, equestrian, fighting, martial arts, etc. Wu Jing will also be hired as a professional instructor. He hopes that Wu Jing will put his creative work into practice. Experience and insights are infused into teaching, leading students to experience the charm of action performances.
In Wang Xin’s view, the entry of action performance majors into the national higher education system is a qualitative leap for the training of action actors. If candidates enter the action performance major, their future career choices will be very wide.
