The 14th Beijing International Film Festival Newher·Female Film Section will be held from March 9 to April 21. Outstanding female representatives and female young filmmakers in the film industry are invited to participate in the Newher·Female Film Section. Workshops, master classes, theme forums, market screenings, honor ceremonies and other activities will be held with the theme of "telling the story of women's light and shadow and conveying the upward power of women". Through joint discussion and creation of works from a female perspective, the event will inspire women's thinking and cultivate young women. The growth of creators injects new vitality into the healthy and upward development of the film industry and conveys the "voice of women."
The organizing committee of newher·Workshop
selected five young female directors who participated in the previous film festivals, including Chen Jianying, Dong Mingxing, Xia Meng, Zhao Siying and Zhu Xinyi, to gather in Beijing as workshop students. They will attend Under the leadership of the industry's first-line producer mentors, we will write scripts and shoot short films on female themes, completing a time-limited full-process production challenge from on-site shooting to editing.
This workshop is hosted by the Beijing Film Academy. The UNESCO Chair in Film Art and Cultural Diversity and the Beijing Film and Television Arts Research Base serve as the curators of the women’s film section. Fu Jia, Xiong Ying, Liu Ruifang, Li Yan and Sui Shanshan Outstanding female producers serve as a mentor team. During the process of topic selection, script creation and film and television production by students, their mature experience and perspective will be used to help young filmmakers complete their creations, and works from a female perspective will be discussed with young students to help young female filmmakers grow.

Beijing Film Festival is open to workshop students, young creators, students from major art schools, movie fan groups, etc., and organizes outstanding female practitioners in the film industry to hold master classes, inviting Li Shaohong, Rao Xueman, Deng Lu, Ye Wanting, Fu Shu, Zhao Nan and other outstanding female practitioners in the film industry served as guest speakers, using the experience of industry seniors to guide young creators and explore the core of movies from a professional perspective. Teach film professional knowledge, chat about film creation, explore female perspectives and female-themed works, and stimulate the creative potential of young directors.

During the Beijing Market of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival, the organizing committee will screen female-themed short films created by workshop students at a centralized market, and also set up a post-screening exchange session to help young female creators Fully communicate with potential partners in the Beijing market to showcase the outstanding talents and creativity of female filmmakers in the film field.

This Newher Honor Ceremony will set up the honor of outstanding short films, crown young female filmmakers with the glory of the ceremony, encourage the growth of female filmmakers, and empower female filmmakers.
"Newher" aims to encourage and support more female film creators in China, inject new vitality into the healthy development of the film industry, show the style of women in the new era on and off the screen, and convey new thinking and new concepts for women.
