Taoyuan is built to commemorate Kong Shangren, a dramatist in the Qing Dynasty, who created "Peach Blossom Fan" in Taizhou 2z. On the east bank, there are waterside pier, ancient stone boat, Qingfeng Pavilion, Ouhua Island, Laifeng Tower and other scenic spots in the garden.

According to legend, during the years of the Northern Song Dynasty, on a spring day when the plum blossoms bloomed amazingly, four friends Su Shi, Su Zhe, Qin Guan, and Monk Daoqian gathered here to write poems about plum blossoms. Later, in the Southern Song Dynasty, Chen Gai, the magistrate of Taizhou, built the Floating Fragrance Pavilion. He engraved the poem "The Original Rhyme with Plum Blossoms" by Su Shi and other four people into the stone and embedded it in the pavilion wall. Since then, "Four Sages Chanting Plum Blossoms" has become a highlight of Taizhou's cultural relics.
Among them, the most worth seeing is the former residence of Kong Shangren in Suzhou garden style. This garden within a garden is very elegantly arranged, recreating the scene of Kong Shangren’s creation of "Peach Blossom Fan" in Taizhou.
