On November 28, the famous Chinese screenwriter Lu Wei was invited to the school for academic exchange activities. This event was jointly sponsored by the School’s Scientific Research Office, Film Academy, and Shandong Film Association.
In the morning, Lu Wei held a postgraduate tutor appointment ceremony and exchange seminar in the meeting room on the third floor of the Changqing campus. Painter Sun Huiying, Chairman of Shandong Film Artists Association Yu Haifeng, Qilu Evening News senior reporter Ni Zifang, and all teachers of the Film Academy participated. Wang Ping, Dean of the Film Academy, presided over the symposium and awarded Lu Wei a letter of appointment as a graduate tutor. Combining his 44 years of rich practical experience in film work, Lu Wei conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with everyone on art teaching, academic research, discipline construction, professional development and other issues that teachers care about.
In the afternoon, Lu Wei's "Talking about Film" academic lecture was held in the lecture hall of the Changqing campus library. More than 400 teachers and students listened to the lecture. The lecture revolved around Lu Wei's works, creative skills, and the puzzles encountered by college students in the learning process, and communicated in the form of dialogue. Based on his own practical experience, Lu Wei provided detailed answers to teachers and students in combination with works and cases. Regarding film creation, Lu Wei emphasized that novels and news topics are both opportunities to be adapted into movies. It depends on the screenwriter and director’s understanding of events and the perspective of the drama to create; the essence of movies is the story on the screen and tells the story. Level is the key to the success of a film; the screenwriter writes about the understanding of the characters, and the creation of the script is the process of shaping the characters. The lecture was warmly welcomed and praised.
