"Like Father, Like Son" is a story about "having the wrong child". One is the Nonomiya family, which is well-off and full of modern urban atmosphere, and the other is the ordinary and simple Saiki family, full of the fireworks of life. Due to the hospital's negligence, two children were held in the wrong arms at birth. The truth came to light six years later, and the lives of the two families were completely disrupted. On the one hand, there is a blood bond where blood is thicker than water, and on the other hand, there is a family bond where we get along day and night. The originally peaceful and happy life was suddenly broken. Going through the bloodline is a precise understanding of real life and a deeper reflection on family ties. In the confusion, hesitation and struggle of the two families, the director also intentionally makes the audience think about "what is parent-child", "what is family" and "what is home".
Director Kore-eda specially customized a new Chinese-style cardigan in advance to meet Chinese movie fans, and even showed off his cute steps on the scene. Faced with questions from fans, Hirokazu Kore-eda responded with his usual gentleness and humility: "I don't want to be a person who guides young people." Fans warmly welcomed the arrival of the director and Lily. In order to thank the director for this year's second During Du's visit to China, movie fans came up with unique ideas and made bouquets of flowers from the director's favorite Yunnan mushrooms. They also thoughtfully prepared a cute panda hat for the director and Lily. The two main creators happily put on their hats, and Lily Franky humorously complained: "This is simply Uncle Mushroom Panda!"
Director Hirokazu Kore-eda's love for "the scene of two mothers embracing by the river" in the movie reflects his delicate capture of the unique emotions between women. He believes that this kind of embrace between women not only conveys warmth and strength, but also brings light of hope.
Professor Dai Jinhua of Peking University believes that "Like Father, Like Son" not only explores the relationship between blood and family ties, but also provides an in-depth analysis of the role of the father and an in-depth reflection on family relationships.
