Hello everyone, my name is Xu Changzhong. I was born in a small village on the banks of the Youshui River in Xiangxi, Hunan. I am an authentic Tujia boy. I have been working in the Corps for 12 years. .
In 2012, after graduating from the Music Department of Zhengzhou University, I chose to come to the XPCC because I was particularly interested in the ethnic folk music of Xinjiang. It happened that the XPCC employer came to Zhengzhou to recruit students. At that time, I had no idea about the XPCC. I thought I was in the army. I believe every boy has a heart to join the army, and I was no exception.
came to Beitun. At that time, Beitun had just been established as a city. There was one main street and one back street. Although the road was very spacious, there were not many cars and not many people on the street. Although it was summer in Beitun, It's cool, but there are a lot of mosquitoes, especially in July and August, so you have to take mosquito repellent equipment with you when you go out.
After more than ten years of development, Beitun now has a completely new look. The mountains are green and the water is green, the streets are busy with traffic, people are coming and going, the streets are dazzling, the city culture is rich and colorful, and the whole city is young and full of vitality.
My unit, Beitun Hospital, is on the bank of the Irtysh River, diagonally across from the Cultural Square. It is considered a central area. I often go to practice singing nearby. At that time, our newly arrived college students all lived there. In the hospital dormitory, I was living The dormitory on the second floor of the Medical Technology Building is much happier than living in the dormitory on the first floor of the old infectious disease department of the hospital. When we first started working, our wages were meager and local prices were relatively high. We single workers often got together to form a team. Cooking is an unforgettable thing when you think about it.
More than ten years have passed, and now we are all married and have children of our own. My eldest daughter is almost 3 and a half years old, and my second daughter is 1 and a half years old. We have also moved from the single dormitory to 100 The big house in Duoping has truly put my roots down here. I can be considered a new generation of Corps members, and my two children have also become the second generation of recruits.
I came to Xinjiang and have been working in Beitun Hospital. I have also experienced various positions in the hospital. Although I am not directly engaged in front-line clinical work, the specific business I do has indirectly served patients. For more than ten years, Working in the hospital allows me to personally feel the value of my existence in the hospital. I have witnessed the rapid development of the hospital. From the second-class to the third-class, various new technologies have come from scratch, from weak to strong, and the hospital's various undertakings are gradually improving. Move towards modernization.
Although I have left the hospital family now, I may never forget every detail of my work and life in the hospital.
Singing is my specialty and my major. Not long after we came to Beitun, we went to participate in a knowledge competition on the group work system in the division. In order to relieve the tension at the scene, our team leader at the time said, let’s Let our young man sing a song for everyone. I remember it very clearly. I sang a capella a Western song by teacher Wang Hongwei . , the rushing water of the Yellow River... there was warm applause. From then on, I could be seen in almost all local literary and art performances. At that time, we in Beitun also lacked national tenor singers, so there was also a lack of national tenor singers. I am often selected by our cultural propaganda department to participate in Corps art performances, youth singing competitions, and grassroots performances with song and dance troupes. My singing has also been loved by local people of all ethnic groups.
After so many years in the Corps, I think the most meaningful thing I have done is that on November 15, 2021, on behalf of the hospital, I participated in the grassroots front-line training for young cadres in the division. I was stationed at the China-Kazakhstan border. The 186th Regiment's Shankouzi Post in the front-line regiment field has been engaged in border protection work for one year and two months. When I received this work assignment, I was really tangled in my heart. I was worried that my family would not support me. After discussing it with my wife, I told my family what I thought at the time. I wanted to go to the border and experience it. I have the sacred mission of defending the country and guarding the border, and of course I also want to fulfill my childhood dream of being a soldier. My wife said at that time, just go if you think about it.Thinking about it now, if I had not gone, I would definitely regret it now.
In the 186th Regiment, I felt the solemn oath of generations of Corps sons and daughters to "dedicate their youth to their lives, and their lives to their descendants." The true portrayal of "landing is to stand guard, and grazing is to patrol".
Every morning, the bright five-star red flag slowly rises. When the "March of the Volunteers" sounds on the border, as a Chinese, a Corps member, and a border guard, this sense of pride and responsibility , a sense of mission arises spontaneously.
"Wind-blown snow" could not stop the border patrol. On the border patrol road, we saw the vehicles of local ethnic minority herdsmen trapped in the snow. Two comrades and I responded quickly and devoted ourselves to the rescue operation, braving the "sea breeze" , in the environment of minus 20 to 30 degrees, they shoveled snow and boosted, and successfully rescued the trapped vehicle from the snow nest. The herdsmen gave a thumbs up and felt the enthusiasm and warmth of our corps people.
That time was indeed unforgettable. After returning to Beitun after guarding the border, I wrote a jingle called "Recalling Shankouzi" - a small outpost, tall white poplars , the long border is being measured with footsteps; the bright moon in the night sky, the faint light, the winding border river, flowing slowly; the golden wheat waves, the flocks of cattle and sheep, the eagles in the sky, soaring freely; the wind blows the snow Grain, with feet on the ice, stick to it day and night, defending one side.
I will never forget my original intention, always maintain the passion and vitality of young people, and grow up with all my young friends.
With the popularity of the TV series "My Altay", my Beitun has also come out of the circle. Taking this opportunity, please allow me to speak for my second hometown: Come to Beitun to enjoy the flowers in spring, and eat fish in Beitun in summer. Come to Beitun to enjoy the scenery in autumn and ski in winter. We sincerely welcome young friends from all over the country to join us in taking root in the beautiful Xinjiang and making contributions in the western part of the motherland.
