This concert was hosted by the Folk Music Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The Chinese Orchestra of the Guangxi University of the Arts and a number of performers jointly presented 12 wonderful works.

The concert kicked off with the soothing and soulful song "New Rhythm of the Ancient City", which was composed by Professor Hou Daohui. It is based on Zhuang music elements and Guangxi Xilinping special tune. The work not only retains the rich flavor of Zhuang folk music, It incorporates the flavor of the times. The Indonesian West Java traditional-style suona piece "Narompet" composed by sofyan triyana has unique local characteristics. With the wonderful performance of the actors, the audience was hooked.

Composer Qin Wenchen’s work "Calling the Phoenix" was inspired by a set of oil paintings "Phoenix in the Fire". The music depicts the birth and growth of the "Phoenix" in the darkness, then matures after being tested by fire, and finally flies towards the sun. course. "Chaotian Song" composed by Professor Wang Danhong of the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music is selected from the sixth movement of her large-scale ethnic orchestral suite "Forever Shandandan", showing a magnificent "Northern Shaanxi Epic". The last piece of the

concert was passionately performed by Liu Wenwen, China's first doctor of suona. The piece was "Impression of March 3" by Professor Hou Daohui. The powerful and explosive Chinese suona won many praises from the audience. This track uses the tones of Zhuang folk songs as the material, showing the scene of the Zhuang people's joyful antiphonal singing, and fully expressing people's praise and praise for a happy and beautiful life. "The response to "Impression March 3rd" was extremely enthusiastic after its performance in Shanghai. I am very happy to have the opportunity to perform this piece in Nanning." Liu Wenwen said.

It is understood that Liu Wenwen was born in a suona family. She is a "post-90s" young teacher at Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the first suona doctor in China. In September 2023, the Guangdong Chinese Orchestra officially signed Liu Wenwen as the resident suona performer. She has performed with China Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and other well-known orchestras. Liu Wenwen is active on the front-line international stage. She has made more people aware of suona and traditional Chinese art.

China-ASEAN (Nanning) Music Week aims to build a cultural bridge between China and ASEAN countries through music and promote the exchange and development of culture and art among countries in the region.
