(Putian Puxian Opera Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Center) is a key play of the Fujian Provincial Stage Art Quality Project in 2023. The main creative staff include the famous screenwriter Huang Pixing, national first-level director Liu Zuoyu, Wang Shaoyuan, winner of the 17th Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, and others. The play is based on the anti-Yuan deeds of Chen Wenlong, a famous official in the Southern Song Dynasty and a national hero from Putian, and focuses on the story of Chen Wenlong who resisted the Yuan soldiers and preferred death to surrender.
Chen Wenlong is played by Wenhua Award winner Wu Qinghua. With his solid opera skills, he interprets Chen Wenlong’s character of neither humbleness nor arrogance, and indomitable character in every gesture, and has received widespread applause. At the same time, his performance is in sharp contrast with the character Wang Gangzhong's self-destruction and rebellion against the enemy. Putian City, known as Xinghuajun in ancient times, was one of the "Eight Fujian Provinces" in the Song Dynasty. It has won the reputation of "the hometown of Jinshi" because it has produced 2,482 Jinshi in history. Chen Wenlong was born in the fifth year of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty (1232). He passed the exam in the fourth year of Xianchun (1268). In the second year of Jingyan (1277), he died on a hunger strike after the failure of the anti-Yuan Dynasty. He was the same as his contemporary Wen Tianxiang Same name.
