html On the morning of September 7, Beijing’s 38th Marco Polo Bridge Lion Dance Cross-Country Run was held in the Garden Expo Park. More than 3,000 people participated to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Early in the morning, in the rain, in front of Gate 2 of the Beijing Garden Expo, people participating in the lion dance cross-country race gathered here. Before the start of the race, students from Zhao Dengyu School in Fengtai District sang "Lugou Ballad", and the mass chorus sang "March of the Broadsword", "Yellow River Cantata", "My Motherland and Me" and other songs. The exciting music echoed at the scene.

The starting gun sounded, and cross-country running enthusiasts rushed to the track. The rain did not affect their speed and enthusiasm. This year’s lion awakening cross-country running event includes a 10-kilometer cross-country run, a 5-kilometer walking and a 2-kilometer parent-child run. In addition, in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, this year’s Lion Dance also invited relevant sports industry associations in Tianjin and Hebei to carry out online running activities. The online activities will last for one month and will be held simultaneously with the offline 10-kilometer cross-country run. The gun is fired and the sports fans participating in the online run will complete the online check-in task of 21 red points on the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Red Map".

The Beijing Marco Polo Bridge Lion Dance Cross-Country Run is co-sponsored by the Beijing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Beijing Sports Federation, and the Fengtai District People’s Government. It is a patriotic education activity that integrates political, mass, and sports features. In commemoration of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, patriotic education should be provided to the general public, especially young people, to guide the people not to forget the national humiliation, revitalize China, carry forward the great anti-war spirit, and at the same time promote national fitness activities. Since its inception in 1987, it has been held annually by the Marco Polo Bridge and has been successfully held for 37 times.
