China News Service, Beijing, May 2 (Reporter Ying Ni) As a 2023 funding project of the Beijing Culture and Art Fund, the stage play "Accidental City" premiered at the Beijing Comedy Theater from May 1 to 2. The play seamlessly intersperses fairy tales with real life on the stage. In the play, familiar fairy tale characters such as "The Little Mermaid, The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood" are transformed into the characters they meet in daily life. The stage design combines "comic elements + technological light and shadow" to create a semi-open space surrounded by three sides to create an immersive look of reality and reality. With the help of light and shadow, body, sound effects and other expression techniques, it is cleverly integrated with puppet art to create a rich and three-dimensional stage effects, allowing the audience to follow the plot and experience the emotions, anger, sorrow, and joy of the characters in real time.

Based on fairy tales, "Accidental City" brings fairy tales into reality. For example, the secret love in "The Mermaid" turns into the protagonist's unrequited love for the beautiful shop assistant; "The Three Little Pigs" overlaps with three incompetent drama actors; "Cinderella" becomes the one who wears heavy makeup every night The hotel princess; "Little Red Riding Hood" turns into a rebellious girl with red hair. But in the process of this "interweaving", the director also used some artistic techniques to bring about changes: each character is facing the helplessness and dilemma of life, but they do not get frustrated or give up on moving forward, but accept it. Be realistic and face it.

Director Xiong Mengchu from the Musical Theater Center of Shanghai Theater Academy believes that using these familiar fairy tales as plot guides and then highlighting the realistic emotional expressions of the characters in the play will make the audience find it interesting and resonate with them. "I hope that the audience can maintain a relaxed attitude when they come to the theater. If a story or a certain link in the play can touch their hearts inadvertently, and then awaken themselves who were confused at the time, they can finally face the truth calmly. "

" It is reported that the play is jointly produced by Zheteng (Beijing) Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd. (End)
