"The Challenge" is the first human film to be shot in space. The film, directed by Krim Shipenko, tells the story of an astronaut who is unable to return to Earth in a spacecraft for surgery, and a female doctor who is in danger goes to space to rescue him.
Yulia Persilde was selected from 3,000 people to play the role of this brave female thoracic surgeon in the film. She and director Krim Shipenko were sent to the International Space Station by a Russian launch vehicle on October 5, 2021, and returned safely to Earth after 12 days of filming. Asked why he stood out among 3,000 people? Yulia Persilde joked that it was her "middle ear" that was so powerful. She revealed that she had received two difficult 8g centrifuge trainings, which made a physicist at the event give a thumbs up.
How to operate on injured astronauts in the weightless state of space is the biggest difficulty and the biggest highlight of the film. Yulia Persild revealed that the surgical procedures in the film were set by Russia's most powerful surgeons and were specially formulated solutions for space crises. She thought about it seriously and answered frankly that before going to space to film "The Challenge", she wrote a farewell letter to her daughter. The letter was only read by her daughters recently when she was recording a recording session for her new book, and they both burst into tears. "Because of my love for my daughter, I think it's better to stay on the ground." However, she said that she really misses the feeling of weightlessness in space. "The Challenge" is scheduled to be released nationwide on March 15.
