The Shanghai International Film Festival is an international A-level film festival. A group of internationally renowned filmmakers work and live in Shanghai. But what needs to be faced is that Chinese films are increasingly under attack from "long" and "short" videos, and the phenomenon of audience diversion is becoming increasingly serious. "On the one hand, we must continue to create excellent film works to attract audiences to cinemas; on the other hand, we must vigorously develop the 'post-theater market' and continuously extend the film product chain." Li Zhenlin said that it is necessary to accelerate the development of the "post-theater market" and develop good outside theaters. The film-related upstream and downstream markets, such as derivatives, copyrights, etc., authorize manufacturers to produce toys, clothing, cosmetics and other post-movie products, creating the next "nuclear explosion point" for film development.
Li Zhenlin pointed out that there are still some problems in the current construction of the "post-theater market", such as not fully recognizing the significance of the post-theater market or post-movie products for the upgrading of the film industry: "Hollywood box office only accounts for 20%-30% of industry revenue. Everything else depends on the theater market. A family movie can authorize the copyright of more than 60 companies. It can be said that movies are full of treasures. A mature film industry should not only rely on box office, but also develop more derivatives and copyrights. Transaction."
In addition, there are still problems such as inefficiency in film IP development, film companies and manufacturers have not yet formed an effective derivatives and copyright trading market, and a lack of professional human resources.
Li Zhenlin suggested that relevant guidance should be issued to support the development of the "post-cinema market" and policies should be systematically integrated from various aspects such as funds, credit, trade, finance and taxation to form a good business environment. At the same time, based on the Shanghai Copyright Trading Center and the Shanghai Film and Television Copyright Service Center, we will explore the establishment of the Shanghai Film and Television Copyright Exchange and strive to become a film and television copyright trading center in China and even Asia. In addition, relevant colleges and universities and training institutions should also actively carry out talent training for the "post-cinema market" and gradually incorporate it into the track of professional discipline construction to form a human resources support system.
