1905 Movie Network News Stills from David Cronenberg's much-anticipated new film "The Shroud" have been exposed. In the stills, there is a surreal combination of cemetery, tombstones and lights, which is very futuristic. Vincent Cassel and Diane Kruger are wandering through it, seemingly searching for a connection to the dead.
The film follows Cash, a creative businessman and grieving widower who builds a device to communicate with the dead within a burial shroud. Just as Cash's revolutionary work was about to break into the international mainstream, several cemeteries, including his wife's grave, were vandalized and nearly destroyed. As Cash struggles to uncover the truth about the attack, the reality forces him to reexamine his job, his marriage, and his loyalty to his late wife, while pushing him toward a new beginning. Kruger plays three characters, Cash's wife, his wife's sister and a sort of avatar, with Ho playing the mysterious woman who is the wife of a billionaire who becomes connected to Cash over a strange project related to her husband. .
As for other actors, Guy Pearce also joined the cast. This is Vincent Cassel and Cronenberg's first collaboration after "Eastern Promises" and "A Dangerous Method." As a banner of Canadian cinema, Cronenberg has many works to his name.
