The secret of gold brick battery
Traditional lithium iron phosphate battery has higher safety and cost performance, but the energy density cannot be compared with ternary lithium battery. Its low battery capacity and slow charging speed are its limits. The latest result of comprehensive self-research in the field, Golden Brick Battery attempts to make breakthroughs in technology, first of all in terms of volume utilization.
Increasing battery life is nothing more than increasing the number of cells, but if you want to pack more cells into a limited volume, you need to completely transform the battery pack structure. For example, an integrated liquid-cooling tray is used at the bottom of the battery to replace the traditional water pipe structure, which reduces the squeeze of structural parts on the cell space.
adopts a "compact sandwich structure" of battery cells, upper cover, and bottom plate to release the vertical space of the battery compartment; it uses aviation-grade ultra-thin thermal barrier material between the battery cells to improve volume utilization.
Compared with the traditional design, the total length of the sampling line of the BRIC battery is shortened by 157m, the number of core components is reduced by 35%, and the battery mass and energy density is increased by more than 10%. As a result, the volume utilization rate of the BRIC battery can reach 83.7%, becoming the first power battery in the world to exceed 80%.
Next is the charging time. For ordinary lithium iron phosphate batteries, even in the fast charging range from 30% to 80%, it still takes more than 30 minutes, which is still a long wait for car owners.
In order to shorten the charging time, the battery's high charging rate and ultra-fast charging facilities need to be upgraded simultaneously. Thanks to the 800V architecture and matching 800V fast charging technology, the maximum charging power of the BRIC battery can reach 500kW and the maximum charging rate is 4.5C; within the 10%~80% fast charging range, it can be charged for 15 minutes and the battery life can be increased by more than 500km. Greatly improve the energy replenishment experience.
In addition, the discharge performance of the BRICS battery is also very fast, with a 3-second pulse discharge rate of up to 16C. The first JiKrypton 007 equipped with a BRICS battery, its zero-to-100 acceleration performance can easily reach the 3-second level.
The motor of the gold brick battery adopts a laminated multi-pole structure. Under ultra-fast charging conditions, the heat distribution will be more even and the temperature control will be more efficient. In addition, it also adopts a double riveted pole diversion design, and its overcurrent capacity is compared with that of a single battery. The pole solution has been improved by 100%; in addition to structural optimization, Ji Krypton also uses lithium-ion full acceleration technology to achieve stable and efficient charging performance under high voltage and high current by improving the overall efficiency of lithium ion release, transmission and reception.
Battery Safety
JiKrypton has a very proud record of zero spontaneous combustion in more than 180,000 batteries delivered. This time, BRIC Battery has upgraded its six major safety measures to eight. As the name suggests, the gold brick battery has a golden appearance and looks like a long gold brick. The golden exterior is a specially designed high-voltage resistant insulating film that can withstand 4000V DC high voltage, and the high-voltage resistance capability is increased by 27%.
With R&D safety standards, safe structural design, and advanced high-voltage resistant insulation materials, how is its actual performance? Jikrypton has designed three extreme safety tests for this purpose.
The first is the "overpressure acupuncture test". The fully charged BRIC battery is first squeezed with a force of 1.5 times the national standard to allow the extrusion deformation to reach more than 30%; it is left to stand for an hour, and then 5mm is used. The steel needle penetrates from the point with the greatest degree of bending to directly short-circuit the battery core. There is no fire or explosion in the whole process.
The second one is the "external fire test". The experimenter tested the gold brick battery by direct fire in the oil pan. The flame temperature of the battery pack was above 700°C, and the fire continued for 240 seconds, which was longer than the national standard of 130 seconds. Still no fire or explosion.
The third one is the "Six Extreme Working Conditions Serial Test". The same gold brick battery is continuously soaked in water, burned, frozen and towed. After being installed in the car, it can still drive the vehicle. Finally, the battery is removed, and then crushed. After falling from a high height and completing 6 extreme tests, it still did not catch fire or explode.
Ultra-fast charging
As of November 30, Jikrypton has built a total of 401 charging stations, covering 100 cities across the country, providing 2,261 charging piles, each with a charging power of more than 360kW. It is expected that the total number of Ji Krypton Ji charging stations will reach 1,000 in 2024; by 2026, the total number is expected to reach 10,000.
JiKrypton’s self-developed 600kW fully liquid-cooled charging pile JiZhong V2 was laid out a year ago. In September this year, the Jichong V3, which has the highest single-gun output power in the world, was also officially released. Its gun line current carrying capacity is not only stronger, but also lighter, and its designed service life is more than 10 years.
The smart power sharing technology that comes standard with the JiCharging Station can allocate power in real time based on the power received by each charging vehicle, making better use of the power pool and allowing each pile in the JiCharging Station to maximize its effectiveness. In addition, the cabinet-integrated output method is used to connect the scattered surplus of transformers around the site to multiple power cabinets, reducing the location restrictions of high-power ultra-fast charging stations.
On the day of the press conference, Jikrypton APP Jiwu Mall launched a 20kW DC home charging pile. This is one of the home charging piles with the highest charging power at present. With a 100-degree battery, it only takes 5 hours to fully charge; even with a 140-degree large battery, It can be fully charged overnight.
