Taichung Mayor Lu Xiuyan revealed this evening that, as far as she knows, "six people have died and six to seven people have been injured." Lu Xiuyan said that after the fire was gradually extinguished at 18:30 in the evening, firefighters entered the fire scene to search and are still searching and rescue.

According to reports, Lu Xiuyan revealed at about 21 o'clock this evening that Taichung City Fire Department sent more than 30 fire trucks and more than 120 fire rescue personnel to the scene for rescue. "Six people died, and 6 to 7 people were injured and sent to the hospital." 29 residents were placed in the hotel by the district office. Now that the fire has just been extinguished, since the house where the fire broke out is an old building, firefighters are still continuing to check.

Lu Xiuyan said that there are three important matters at present, one is to continue the investigation, and it will not end until it is confirmed that the inventory is completed. The Social Bureau of Taichung City stated that the Central District Office has opened the Dadun Activity Center as a refuge and shelter for counting the number of people and taking short breaks.
