The history of the beginning of the "peasant movement king"
Comrade Peng Pai was born in a landlord family and was very wealthy. After graduating from the famous Waseda University in Japan in 1921 and returning to China, he served as the director of education in Haifeng County, Guangdong Province. He was also well paid and had a bright future. But he abandoned all this, firmly believed in communism, and threw himself into the peasant revolutionary movement. At the beginning of
, Peng Pai encountered many difficulties. The biggest difficulty is that the farmers do not trust him and avoid him. The tycoons and landlords also took the opportunity to spread rumors and slander, saying that Peng Pai was dismissed from the post of education director, depressed in his chest, and had a mental illness. But Peng Pai was very firm. He seriously thought about the reasons why the farmers were reluctant to approach him, and finally realized that: because of his special clothes, the farmers did not dare to approach him; his speech was too elegant and the farmers could not understand. So, he took off his white hat, put on a pointed bamboo hat, took off his shoes, barefooted, and walked among the peasants with the dry chimney that peasants love to use.
He chose a major traffic road, took the initiative to chat with farmers and gave speeches when they were passing by and resting. On the first day, four or five farmers talked to him, and more than ten people listened to his speech, which made him very happy and felt that he had a good start. In order to attract more peasants, he tried his best, sometimes performing magic tricks, sometimes playing records with a gramophone, sometimes teaching shepherd boys to sing, and then giving publicity speeches when more people came.
He also went to the boxing gym that young people love to practice martial arts, met young people in rural areas, and personally gave a piece of the land deed that he had split up to the tenants. Burned down, he and his wife have lived a frugal country life since then.
Peng Pai's sincerity was gradually understood by the peasants, and the revolutionary principles he preached were gradually accepted by the peasants. On New Year's Day in 1923, the Haifeng General Farmers Association was proclaimed. Under his leadership, the Haifeng peasant movement developed in full swing. At that time, Haifeng presented a revolutionary scene and was called "Little Moscow". Peng Pai was also called "the king of the peasant movement" by Comrade Mao Zedong.
