On the same day, the Kremlin said in a statement that Putin had a phone call with Joko Widodo to discuss preparations for the G20 summit. On August 19, Widodo said in an interview with Bloomberg that Putin will travel to Bali, Indonesia, later this year to attend the G20 summit. The Kremlin declined to comment on
's revelations about Indonesia's side at the time. But Bloomberg, citing an official familiar with the situation, said Putin was considering taking part in the summit offline. Regarding Putin's possible offline participation in the G20 summit, the White House said on August 19 that if Putin attends the G20 summit in Bali, Ukrainian President Zelensky should also attend.
