China Youth Daily Client Guangzhou, April 10th (China Youth Daily·China Youth Daily reporter Lin Jie) On the afternoon of April 10th, Academician Zhong Nanshan and Korean epidemic prevention experts exchanged online China-Korea experience in the prevention and control of new crown pneumonia. To this end, Zhong Nanshan specially produced a PPT entitled "China's Experience in Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia" to introduce China's experience in fighting the epidemic to South Korea.
“There is definitely a risk, but the risk is not equal to reality.” In response to the risk of imported cases abroad, Zhong Nanshan said that China attaches importance to imported cases, and pays special attention to those infected with new coronavirus who have no symptoms. He reminded that these asymptomatic infections did not come in a vacuum. They mainly come from close contacts of confirmed patients and key epidemic areas, especially those from countries and regions where the epidemic is developing rapidly, and they are often more infectious. "These people already carry the virus, and most of them are contagious."
"As long as they are strictly monitored and tracked, they will be isolated once they are found. At the same time, they will be closely observed." Zhong Nanshan said, in this case, Even if it infects a few people, it will not cause an outbreak. In the next period of time, there will definitely be imported cases, especially in large cities. It is unrealistic to clear them completely unless they are completely isolated from the world.
Zhong Nanshan said, “The viral gene mutations are very suitable for survival in the human body, with relatively strong transmission ability, and the mortality rate is 20 times higher than that of influenza, which is indeed worthy of attention.” For the prevention and control of new coronary pneumonia, he believes that rapid development should be considered vaccine. Vaccines are an artificial method of vaccination, and it is impossible to rely on most people to develop herd immunity after getting this disease. The price and sacrifices paid by this method are too great, so human intervention is necessary.
Zhong Nanshan said that the current trend of the global epidemic depends on the attitudes of European and American governments. Europe has achieved the core need to "keep distance" and reduce infections. However, the rate of increase in patients with new coronary pneumonia in the United States is indeed worrying. "A large-scale outbreak in any one country cannot be peaceful or controlled in the whole world." When talking about the issue of returning to school, Zhong Nanshan said, firstly, the local disease has been reduced to very few; In the case of input control, if the external input is basically controlled well, it should be resumed. "You can't stop school forever. This disease cannot be eradicated completely. It will be spread for a long time in the future, and there will be no large-scale outbreaks."
Zhong Nanshan introduced to South Korean experts. Since the Chinese expert group proposed, After the new crown virus has a very clear "person-to-person transmission" and transmission to medical staff, the central government quickly took action. Generally speaking, there are two control methods for highly infectious diseases: one is "inhibition" and the other is "alleviation." Although the use of the first method will cause serious economic losses, the Chinese government has resolutely adopted the "inhibition" method: one is Wuhan encirclement, and the other is group prevention and control nationwide. In addition, China reports the number of cases openly and transparently every day, and conducts nucleic acid tests on close contacts. Various methods were used together, and within 4 weeks, the epidemic was basically controlled. Wuhan "closed the city" and national joint defense and control, "this is the result of strong intervention." Zhong Nanshan added.
It is reported that since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, China and South Korea have taken strict and effective prevention and control measures based on their own realities, and have become countries that have been very successful in fighting the epidemic so far. In the early stage of epidemic prevention and control, the governments of the two countries strengthened the sharing of experience and took the lead in establishing a joint prevention and control mechanism. The two peoples worked together and helped each other, and continued to write good stories about China-South Korea friendship. With the rapid spread of the new crown epidemic around the world, epidemic prevention and control in both countries have also entered the stage of focusing on preventing overseas imports.
This dialogue has attracted much attention. The organizers believe that this is the first dialogue between top experts who have successfully led their countries out of the epidemic. Not only will it promote China-South Korea relations, it will also have a demonstrative effect for the international community to strengthen cooperation in epidemic prevention. Participants in the
dialogue event included Zhong Nanshan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, research team leader of the new crown virus joint prevention and control work mechanism, Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to South Korea, Seoul University medical school professor, and former director of the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare Li Jong-gu, Han Qu Huan, President of the Chinese Friendship Association, and Dean of the Korea One Belt One Road Research Institute.
