Recently, the People’s Court of Shizhong District of Jinan City opened a court hearing of the plaintiff Wang XX v. Defendants Zhang, Wei, Ma, and Liu XX on the right to health dispute.
According to the plaintiff Wang Moumou’s statement, Wang Moumou was hired by Zhang to produce soy product feed in a courtyard in Shizhong District, Jinan City. At around 4 am on September 22, 2017, the plaintiff was preparing to move the processed feed. The pit dog raised and managed by the defendant was bitten, resulting in amputation of the arm, loss of the left ear, and severe damage to the right eye and jaw. On January 9, 2018, the plaintiff sued for medical expenses, disability compensation, lost work expenses, nursing expenses, nutrition expenses and other losses totaling more than 910,000 yuan on the grounds of the right to health dispute.
Defendants Zhang, Wei, and Liu did not appear in court. Defendant Ma said that the dog has nothing to do with him and should not be held responsible. The case underwent an exchange of evidence before the trial, and two appraisals were made on Wang's injury. The trial focused on the time, place and process of the plaintiff’s injury, the amount and basis of the plaintiff’s claims, and the facts and legal basis on which the plaintiff required the defendant to assume responsibility.
