Home quarantine in Taichung City suddenly increased, Lu Xiuyan "warned" Taiwan authorities

The Taichung City Government held a municipal meeting today. Mayor Lu Xiuyan pointed out that since the “Central” announced the release on June 7, home quarantine in Taichung City has continued to increase. She believes that the "central government" should examine whether the current number of inbound visitors should be reduced to avoid excessive pressure on local epidemic prevention.

Lu Xiuyan said that in the past month, the number of people quarantined at home in Taichung City has soared from more than 1,100 to 1,811, and currently ranks first in Taiwan. She said that the "central government" announced the release of the epidemic when the epidemic slowed down, but the number of home quarantine personnel has not decreased but has increased. Although the relevant personnel of the city government dare not slack off, the rapid increase in the number is still under pressure.

Lu Xiuyan also warned the "Central Government" whether there are too many people entering the country, which has caused pressure on local epidemic prevention. She emphasized that Taiwanese certainly have the right to return to Taiwan, but the "central" review and openness should consider local manpower for epidemic prevention.

She is also worried that the number of people in home quarantine will explode, and there may be breaches in the local area. She requires health, civil affairs and other related units not to relax and still follow the epidemic prevention SOP.
