According to Vietnam’s “Investment News” 8 on 29, the Minister of Transport of Vietnam will officially launch 3 projects on the east section of the North-South Expressway this month, namely, Meishan-National Highway 45 (Mai Son-QL45), Yonghao-Phan Thiet ( Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet) and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay (Phan Thiet-Dau Giay) are planned to be completed and put into use by the end of 2022 at the latest. The total investment of the project is 23.5 billion US dollars (approximately RMB 160 billion), and the investment method has also changed from a public-private partnership to a national public investment.
It is reported that the North-South Expressway is an expressway that connects major cities in northern Vietnam to southern Vietnam. It has a total length of 1850 kilometers and a total investment of US$185 billion (approximately RMB 1262 billion). After the completion of , Vietnam is expected to achieve the goal of 2,500 kilometers of expressway mileage.
The Ministry of Transport of Vietnam revealed that companies from China, Japan, South Korea and other countries are very interested in the country’s North-South highway projects. As of 2019, at least 10 Chinese companies have participated in bidding. Although has climbed to 120 bidders in the bidding as of June 19 this year, Chinese companies have a better chance of winning-Chinese companies have rich experience in overseas highway projects.

On February 26 this year, the Cambodian Highway 58 contracted by the Chinese company Shanghai Construction Engineering Group was officially opened to traffic, which promoted the progress of the country's logistics and transportation industry.
