In 1993, the Hong Kong horror film "The Mysterious Corpse" became a sensation, and the murderer took the initiative to contact the director

Foreword

Hong Kong’s early horror films are mostly based on real cases, such as the restricted film "Lamb Doctor" about "Rainy Night Butcher" Lin Guoyun; another example is based on the "Macao Eight Immortals Hotel Murder", Huang Qiusheng won many awards after starring. The classic movie "Eight Immortals Restaurant with Barbecued Pork Buns"... However, as early as 1976, Hong Kong director He Menghua took the lead in bringing three major cases of "hidden corpses in the stove bottom", "blood splashes on the neck" and "Dragon and Tiger Warrior" onto the screen. Created the precedent of the Shaw Brothers movie.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Hong Kong filmmakers released more than 10 crime feature films that were both popular and popular. These films were filmed during the same period, and most of them were based on the most influential outstanding cases at that time, so they are also called "Hong Kong's odd cases series" by the world. These strange case movies have a common feature, that is, they are quite scary and bloody. In terms of fame, "Human Meat Barbecued Pork Buns" is at the top of the list. But in terms of horror and endurance, the first recommendation is "The Dissolving Corpse", which was released in 1993.

The film is based on the 1989 Hong Kong flight attendant's dissolution case. With the superb interpretation of Huang Qiusheng and Wu Zhenyu, many plots seem very scary. For this reason, the film was once criticized by academic film critics. But in the later stage of the release, its popularity once surpassed other similar themes, and even won three nominations for Best Director, Screenwriter and Supporting Actor at the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards, becoming a veritable collection of viewership, horror, and artistry. A classic piece. In order to make it easier for everyone to understand this movie, we will share it with you in combination with the original story.

1. The real murder prototype

On May 8, 1989, the police received a complaint from the public, stating that the upper floor of a Spanish-style small house in a village in Sha Tin gave off a disgusting stench. The local police immediately went to investigate. They thought it was an ordinary civil complaint. However, no one thought that what was presented to the police turned out to be a hellish scene: a severely decomposed female limb was parked in the house, and there were many dead bodies. After being treated with corrosive chemical liquids, only the bones were hidden in an iron box in the bathroom...

The police dispatched a large number of people to lock down the scene and conduct house-to-house visits and investigations, and then according to the evidence of residents living opposite the murder scene It shows: I heard the fierce quarrel of two women from the building where the crime occurred that night, and then a male voice intervened in mediation. The witness stated that he felt that the man seemed to be willing to favor one of the parties, and the quarrel suddenly stopped after about ten minutes.

After investigation, the involved unit was three stories high, with a family living on the ground floor, while the second and third floors were rented by the Chinese American David Huang. Especially a small amount of cocaine was found in Huang's room on the second floor. The police decided to arrest Huang immediately and summon Yu, a woman who is close to him. The case quickly came to light-David Huang (played by Wu Zhenyu), the protagonist in the

case, had been with more than 10 women at the same time, and two of them caused disputes over pets. On May 6, the three met in Huang David's home for negotiations. In the end, the 28-year-old flight attendant Huang Zijun was killed on the spot. Yu Ling is the new girlfriend Huang David met, and the 28-year-old deceased flight attendant Huang Zijun was also one of Huang's many girlfriends. Then Huang and Yu used corrosive liquid to dissolve the deceased's face, limbs and organs, and threw some bones into the iron box in the bathroom.

2. The bizarre case

The most intriguing aspect of this case is that, in addition to a triangle of love in the case, during the interrogation David Huang composes a new love song with the girlfriend of the inmate who was in custody, and this new girlfriend Eventually he became the person who turned the tide of the Huang case.

In August 1990, the two defendants, Huang and Yu, were unanimously convicted of murder and obstructing the legal burial of the deceased. They were sentenced to death in accordance with the law. The two refused to accept and filed an appeal. During the appeal, the female defendant suddenly overturned all previous evidence, Taking all the charges alone, made David Huang only retain the crime of obstructing the legal burial of the deceased and was released in court, while the female defendant Yu was also changed from murder to manslaughter and was finally released in 1994.

During this period, in addition to the murderers Huang Mou and Yu Mou's murderous methods were widely reported by the media, Huang Mou and another female social worker who visited the prisoner Sally fell in love with each other during his sentence. Married in prison. Later, during the retrial, his newlywed wife knelt down to the judge to plead for her, and tried her best to prove that Huang had a good character and was not a perverted murderer. So it goes... this matter became a hot topic in society at that time. But the two ended up divorced in 1998. Huang's whereabouts have been unknown since then, and Yu was also missing after his release from prison.

3. After the murder, the murder unit was left empty for a period of time. A year later, a person who had no knowledge of the case and his pregnant wife moved to live there, but they felt a huge psychological pressure in the house. Even if they prayed every day, they couldn’t solve it, and they only found out after checking with others. The original unit was the place where the crime happened that year.

Another resident who lived downstairs in the murder house said that many strange things happened during his stay. For example, at night, he witnessed his own kitchen door and toilet door open automatically for no reason; and the iron gate he locked before going to bed would also open automatically for no reason; but the most terrifying thing is that every night after falling asleep, he will be suddenly caught The strange sound was awakened by the strange sound... Later someone arranged such a couplet for several women:

Yu Ling: Live for you, die for you, and bear the blame for your life;

Huang Zijun: I suffer from you, you die, and you die. In your hand;

Sally: It's not you who don't marry!

IV. Huang Dawei took the initiative to contact the director

in "The Dissolving Dead Case", Ye Tong played the female social worker Sally, Wu Zhenyu played Huang David, and Huang Qiusheng, who has always played an evolutionary state in strange cases, played the role of the police investigating the case. The film does not focus too much on the violent plot, but focuses on the court proceedings. It can be clearly seen from the film that most of the jurors back then were wise and lack of professionalism. In particular, some people wanted to quickly end things quickly, and even handled the case based on intuition without looking at the evidence. In order to express his dissatisfaction with the people who participated in the trial of the case, director Zha Chuanyi raised questions about the case with subtitles at the end of the film.

It is said that the defendant Huang Dawei has been released during the shooting. He took the initiative to contact Zha Chuanyi to provide "further information" and asked the investigator to spend money on his heavy insider, but the investigator believed that he had enough information. He rejected Huang's "kindness". Later, "The Riddle of the Dead" was released. David Huang believed that the court had found him not guilty, but the film was suspected of innuendo, so he applied to the court to ban the film. During this period, it caused a turmoil.

In addition, in 1993 there was a film "Lang Xin Ru Tie" directed by Huo Yaoliang, which also mirrored the case. The film emphasizes the special relationship between one man and three women, and adds some mysterious elements, focusing on the three emotional angles to interpret the story. The performances of the heroines Wu Jiali and Li Lizhen are also very exciting, especially Wu Jiali won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress that year with this film.

It should be said that the two films both show most of the key points in the real case. Compared with the "Dissolving the Dead Case", "Lang Heart is Like Iron" is less critical. I also have to admire the ingenuity that Hong Kong filmmakers put into the film in those days, such as "Three Wolves", "Wasp Tail Needle" and "Misty Night Butcher", just from the name, it seems very scary. Odd case movies often don't have too many fancy dazzling techniques and presentations. Instead, they use fast and precise methods to make this series even more popular.
