Foreword: The design of a brand's headquarters is more to create its brand's communication and influence. The designer needs to integrate the corporate culture and heritage into every detail. To highlight the unique charm of the company, so as to affect more followers, so as to achieve a brand heritage.
The design of the new headquarters of Mercedes-Benz Thailand is inspired by one of its founders, Mr. Gottlieb Daimler. He sent a postcard to his wife (there is a three-pointed star marking the location of his house), stating that the star will one day shine on his factory, symbolizing prosperity. The designer captured the concept of stars to penetrate the entire design in the new workspace. In order to increase the opportunities for employees to meet and communicate, the entire floor is designed with multi-function rooms, such as meeting rooms and coffee bars, to make it easier for them to collaborate around the clock. In order to increase sightseeing opportunities, the staircase between the two floors of the office was connected and designed as a grandstand of the city hall, where hundreds of employees can gather to participate in company activities. Above this space, the designer placed iconic products together with imported shiny crystal chandeliers to enhance the design's concept of stars and bring brilliant lights to the entire space. Along the corridor, we deliberately placed lighting in different sizes and different directions to achieve the effect of imitating the stars in the sky.
Taking into account the environmental and health issues of the office, the designer arranges each work seat in a location where all employees can see the external landscape, and is directly connected to natural light by planning most offices and multi-function halls in the core of the building . All materials are carefully selected according to their environmental support. Plants are also included in the design. These selected plants help to purify the air by capturing carbon dioxide in the office area, and are designed to reduce the sunlight heat from the windows along the windows, especially the vertical garden along the west to reduce the afternoon sun heat. In order to improve the comfort effect of the whole environment.
Mercedes-Benz's design color scheme is embodied in connecting employees and company culture. Although black is the main color, there are many colors in shadows that the staff have never seen before. In order to put these shadows into the space, the designer used the concept of sky color change and matched it to the functional area. These bring the mixture of different feelings into the space and bring the greatest energy into the working environment.
