On November 1, the opening ceremony of the "Belarus-China Film Day" was held at the Victory Cinema in Minsk. Zhang Wenchuan, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus, Mao Yu, Executive Deputy Director of the National Film Administration of China, and Gromada, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, attended and delivered speeches. Nearly 200 people including Dai Mo, director of the opening film "The Three Brigades", starring Zhang Yi, as well as representatives from all walks of life in Belarus, envoys to Belarus, overseas Chinese in Belarus, and international students attended the event.

Mao Yu, Executive Deputy Director of the National Film Administration of China, said in his speech that both China and Belarus have a glorious and long tradition in film. Since the birth of China's first film in 1905, films have gradually become a popular form of cultural entertainment for the Chinese people. They have become an important art form that demonstrates the development and changes of Chinese society, the spiritual outlook of the Chinese people, and promotes the excellent traditional Chinese culture. China is the second largest film market in the world, and Belarusian film masterpieces are also deeply loved by Chinese audiences. China welcomes Belarus to participate in the "SCO National Film Festival" in China next year, and hopes that film will become a window to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and a bridge to promote mutual learning between the two civilizations.

Gromada, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, said in his speech that thanks to the high degree of mutual trust and profound friendship between the two heads of state, Belarus-China cooperation in various fields has flourished. Belarus is deeply honored that a high-level Chinese delegation came to Belarus to host the "Chinese Film Day" and attend the 30th Minsk International Film Festival. This year's Minsk International Film Festival received 3,405 participating films from 124 countries around the world, breaking a historical record.
