The play was created and staged by the Manchu New City Opera Inheritance and Protection Center of Songyuan City over a two-year period and has a strong ethnic flavor.
Manchu New Town Opera is the only Manchu opera type in China. It is based on Manchu folk art, integrates a variety of artistic expressions, and has strong national style, regional characteristics and rich cultural connotation. In 2021, Manchu New City Opera was included in the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects.
National first-class actor and director of "Gao Feng Yuanfu Fan Wencheng " Liu Haibo introduced that the play is based on Fan Wencheng's life, showing that in the changing history, Fan Wencheng relied on his outstanding wisdom and courage to actively Stories that promote equality, unity, and integration among all ethnic groups.
It is reported that "Gao Feng Yuan Fu Fan Wencheng" is a project funded by the National Art Fund in 2023. Liu Haibo's another Manchu New Town Opera work "One Meter of Sunshine" is a 2022 funding project of the National Arts Fund.
Songyuan City Manchu New Town Opera Inheritance and Protection Center was formerly the Manchu New Town Drama Troupe, which was established in 1960. At present, only the Songyuan City Manchu New Town Opera Inheritance and Protection Center is inheriting and developing Manchu New Town Opera.
The performance that night was packed with seats. Chen Xiqiang, a national first-class actor and the fourth generation inheritor of Manchu New City Opera, played Fan Wencheng and gave the audience a wonderful performance.

Chen Xiqiang has been involved in Manchu New Town Opera for more than 20 years. He said in an interview that the music and performance methods of Manchu New Town Opera are very special compared to other types of opera. "The music is based on octagonal drums, with 20 tunes, combined with Manchu folk tunes, forming our own characteristics of the drama. In terms of performance, we imitate cranes, eagles and other forms to express the characteristics of the characters in the drama."
Reporter It is understood that at present, the Manchu New Town Opera Inheritance and Protection Center in Songyuan City mainly focuses on young actors and is continuously attracting new talents.
