On the evening of July 11, the TV series " dislocated " was launched on iQiyi Mist Theater in episode 3, officially starting the premiere mode. This TV series stars actors such as Ma Yili and Tong Dawei . It is adapted from a Japanese novel. The original Japanese novel has a small story and has been adapted into a movie and a two-episode TV series in Japan. This time the Chinese adaptation has 15 episodes of plot content. Obviously, "Dislocation" required a lot of expansion from the original work.
Let’s talk about expansion first.
Based on the current three episodes, these expansions can basically be determined as water injection content. The real backbone of the story of the TV series "Dislocation" can actually be told clearly in the length of a movie. In order to make up the plot of more than ten episodes, it can only expand on the leftover content to achieve water injection. These water-injected contents have caused the narrative of this TV series to be cumbersome, and at the same time, it has also caused its "sameness" problem.
Let’s talk about the sameness of “Dislocation” again.
For example, the person in charge of this criminal investigation case must be high-profile and cheating, and there must be problems in his or her family life. In "Misplacement", the heroine of the criminal investigation played by Ma Yili directly discovered that there was a problem with her husband's flight. Then, she found out that her man had cheated on her. Therefore, the heroine asked her husband to bring his household registration book and meet him at the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
This is actually a typical cookie-cutter plot pattern. This kind of plot content exists in large quantities in "Dislocation". For another example, the male protagonist played by Gao Zhiting , "calls in sick" is a hypocritical content that can be found in many TV series. It is even common for Gao Zhiting's character to publicly question Tong Dawei's speech. This kind of plot appears widely in vulgar dramas.
Obviously, in order to expand the writing and expand the content, this "Misplacement" adheres to the principle of borrowing and directly copied many vulgar routines from TV series into "Misplacement". This kind of copying has caused many problems. The biggest problem is that the narrative is too chatty and makes little progress.
Then we can talk about nagging questions.
A good criminal investigation drama that needs new content in every episode. "Dislocation" obviously cannot achieve this basic requirement. Three episodes of content have been released, and I have been looking for a dog. 3 episodes. How much patience does the audience need to finish watching these 3 episodes? The screenwriter and director of the play did not value the audience's patience and directly wasted everyone's patience. In the three episodes, there is no substantial progress in this case, nor any reversal. On the contrary, there are all kinds of water injections, all kinds of sameness, etc.
Now we can talk about the poor tying technique of this TV series.
The first time Gao Zhiting's character and Tong Dawei's character merged, it turned out to be Tong Dawei's character pushing his fiancée to the bookstore to use the bathroom. At this time, Gao Zhiting's character was participating in a book club organized by the bookstore. This is a typical coincidence design, which is spurned and despised in script creation. In the script class, we repeatedly told practitioners in the screenwriting industry not to engage in such extremely low-probability coincidence designs. The more suspenseful and criminal investigation the subject is, the less likely it is to engage in coincidences.
However, the screenwriter and director of the TV series "Misplaced" made too many coincidental events with extremely low probability in the three episodes that were released. Such events reduced this TV series to a work with a very poor narrative. There are obviously many ways to combine the lines, especially many interlocking ways, but this TV series always chooses the very low-end ones. Obviously, the screenwriter and director are seriously lacking in skills.
In addition to the poor performance, there is also a flaw in the narrative logic.
Why does Gao Zhiting’s character pay attention to and suspect Tong Dawei’s character? Because the description of the environment in his novel is the same as that of a real crime scene. This environment is the same, and it becomes Gao Zhiting's character's motivation to investigate Tong Dawei's character's behavior starting from the second episode. The motivation for this character's behavior seems to be valid, but in fact the logic is very far-fetched.why?
Because of the character Gao Zhiting, I read the beginning of the novel and did not continue reading. In other words, the statement "the environment is the same" is not enough to closely connect the criminal investigation case with Tong Dawei's character, unless the screenwriter and director do not want to base the narrative logic on it. If we want narrative logic, since the description of the novel's environment is the same or similar to the crime scene, what Gao Zhiting's character should do most is to continue reading the novel instead of wandering around. However, in the first three episodes of the show, this character did not continue reading the novel. This is a typical flaw in narrative logic.
has a logically far-fetched story, but lacks reality.
This is the biggest problem of "Dislocation", and it is also the biggest problem that iQiyi Mist Theater is facing. TV dramas like "Dislocation" don't require any narrative logic and can be made up casually. In fact, they are all over the streets and dozens of trucks can be found. The reason why Mist Theater has been in the doldrums is not that it is not suspenseful or exciting enough, but that it is not realistic enough or realist enough.
Obviously, the content currently presented in the TV series "Dislocation" lacks realism in all aspects. Of course, the realism of the environment and characters cannot be achieved in this play. The criminal content has a realistic spirit, or in other words, has sociological reflection value. At present, it has not been realized. It is a TV series that tells stories for the sake of stories. At the same time, its story is far-fetched and lacks basic logical preparation. This type of TV series obviously belongs to the category of random fabrication and has no meaning.
Ma Yili is a failure, but Tong Dawei is a plus.
In fact, this kind of work that is not of good quality at the script level cannot reach the level of character performance. Let’s just talk about it. At the script level, Ma Yili's character is "the same" without any personal characteristics. As for the realization of Ma Yili's role, she is relatively soft. This kind of softness does not look like a criminal investigator, but more like a restaurant owner who relies on his mistress on the Yellow River Road.
Tong Dawei is relatively better, but this kind of goodness is not given by the script, but comes from Tong Dawei himself. The actor Tong Dawei is also very soft, but in this "Dislocation", the character he presented has an air of "gentle scum". As an actor, Tong Dawei is of course elegant. However, as a drama character, the more obvious the "gentle scum" temperament is, the more successful the character will be. This is Tong Dawei's advantage.
Gao Zhiting plays a stupid young boy. From the script level, he has no characteristics. When the actor realizes it, of course he has no characteristics. In this way, the quality of this "Dislocation" is very low, and it is basically a flop.(Text/Ma Qingyun)
