Introduction to Chen Yongquan: A famous cross talk artist. Born in Beijing in October 1932, he came from a cross talk family. His maternal grandfather Zhong Ziliang and his father Chen Zizhen were both representatives of the Qing family cross talk. When he was young, he excelled in his studies and studied with Bai Yunpeng, the founder of Bai Pai Jingyun Dagu, and learned the truth. After becoming a disciple of Tan Boru in 1951, he joined the Beijing Crosstalk Improvement Group and served as a clerk. In 1952, he joined the Beijing Folk Art Troupe. After a long period of stage art practice, he made great achievements in crosstalk performance, creation, theory and teaching. He has made particularly great contributions to the writing, creation and performance of dramas and makeup cross talk. In 1986, the cross talk "Wu Song Fights the Tiger" performed with Li Jindou won many awards and had a profound influence. He visited overseas many times and spared no effort to spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
