Tsai Ing-wen selected Chen's "political achievements" in New Taipei Fu - "three things that changed Taiwan" in eight years. The first is to promote "forward-looking construction" to elevate Taiwan's competitiveness to sixth place in the world; the second is to launch various benefits to take care of the Taiwanese people, repay NT$900 billion (NT$, the same below) in debt in eight years, and become the best at repaying debt. "government"; the third is to protect "Taiwan's democracy", which is recognized by the world. Foreign investment in Taiwan has reached a record high of 2.3 trillion in the past eight years. Taiwanese media combed through what Tsai Ing-wen said and found that what she said was inconsistent with the facts.
According to the competitiveness evaluation of the Lausanne Institute in Switzerland, Taiwan's strength is "enterprise efficiency", ranking fourth in the world; but economic performance and infrastructure are both "weaknesses", ranking 20th and 12th respectively. It can be seen that the improvement of Taiwan’s competitiveness is not directly related to “forward-looking construction”. In fact, the 800 billion "forward-looking" fund is like an "extra-legal purse" for the DPP authorities. It has become a weapon for the authorities to control counties and cities, and has also created many mosquito dens and garbage construction.
The Democratic Progressive Party authorities claim to be “the best at repaying debts.” On the other hand, it is also the government that knows best about budgeting. In the eight years since Tsai Ing-wen came to power, the "special budget" compiled under the heading of "forward-looking", epidemic prevention, and defense was as high as 2.4 trillion. During her tenure, she said she would repay NT$900 billion in debt. She seemed very responsible, but she borrowed more than NT$2 trillion in additional loans. Even Taiwan's "Fact Checking Center" criticized this fact, saying that the current outstanding balance of the government's debt is as high as NT$5.8 trillion. Climb high. This is debt leaving posterity.
Regarding "Taiwan's democracy" being recognized by the world and foreign investment in Taiwan hitting a new high, this is a vague story. The fact is that the foreign investment that has increased significantly in the past eight years has mainly come from foreign investors who have come to Taiwan to invest in wind and solar power in line with Tsai Ing-wen’s energy policies. Among them, wind power alone has RMB 1 trillion in investment from EU countries and regions, and several Japanese businessmen have invested in the solar energy industry. But there are also companies like Germany's Rheinland Energy that announced their withdrawal less than a year after planting their flags. Although there is so much foreign investment in wind power and photovoltaics, a large proportion of the funds comes from loans from local banks in Taiwan; what is even more worrying is that Taiwan's green energy power generation is still far below the target value, and the price remains high. This situation of "foreign investment hitting new highs" is actually more worrying than joyful.
From a civil and social perspective, Taiwanese media also pointed out several things that completely changed Taiwan when the DPP authorities came to power.
The party privatizes public power. Tsai Ing-wen not only uses the entire administration as a tool of the Democratic Progressive Party, but also willingly plays the role of the judicial and prosecutorial authorities. Resources are allocated based on "color", and the boundaries between government and the party are completely blurred. The entire administrative department is almost a "super propaganda department" that only wants to brainwash the people.
Corruption and corruption among officials are rampant. Administrative officers are repeatedly rumored to have affairs and incest, yet they are still promoted; they are incompetent in governance or repeatedly lose "diplomatic relations" but still remain in office with no shame, showing no discipline or shame. On the other hand, in the name of "supporting local industries," the Democratic Progressive Party has allowed people from the Democratic Progressive Party to swagger into government agencies, waiting for opportunities to make money. This decline cannot be reversed overnight.
Various decisions are based on short-term responses and do not seek complete solutions. From social issues such as wealth inequality, declining birth rate, and low wages for the younger generation, to economic problems such as insufficient power supply, rising housing prices, and sluggish investment, the DPP authorities have almost always adopted the "procrastination" strategy of subsidies, leaving the problems to Descendants. This will only make the problem worse. This year is the Year of the Dragon, but the birth rate of baby dragons on New Year's Day is the lowest in history. The DPP's policy of "raising them together with the government" is obviously in vain.
Abandon justice and law and order, allowing underworld and fraud to run rampant. In recent years, the underworld on the island has planted flags in the entertainment industry and may have been upgraded to a fraud group; at the same time, it has often been seen that senior green camp officials and civilians have become guests of fraud groups. With such an "official and criminal integration", does Taiwan still have a future?
Tsai Ing-wen is proud of her official version of "Three things that changed Taiwan". Taiwanese media analyzed from the civilian perspective of the privatization of the public power party, the corruption of official policies, the decline of public security, and the hopelessness of young people, why the "removal of the Democratic Progressive Party" will become the majority The expectations of the Taiwanese people are high, because after eight years of chaotic rule by the Democratic Progressive Party, Taiwan is really not as bright as she said.
